Information for New Patients
The Regional Chiropractic & Rehabilitation team strives to offer a comfortable office setting that helps you feel at ease from the moment you walk in. Our focus is on discovering whether we can help you and if so, creating a plan to relieve your pain and improve your overall health.
The First Visit
We ask that you complete some paperwork first so that we understand the nature of your problem. Dr. Sturgill will sit down with you to determine what has brought you in. Next is an examination that assesses your soft tissues and joints, along with range of motion tests to determine your stability levels. We seek to find any limitations or restrictions that might be causing pain and interfering with your function. Orthopedic tests look at different areas of the body to check the muscles, ligaments and cartilage for most injuries.
From this point, we will discuss the findings and determine if further testing or co-management of your case with another health professional is the best solution. If we feel that we cannot help you, Dr. Sturgill will inform you immediately and refer you to the proper practitioner.
We will then review an appropriate care plan and strive to provide relief with treatment that same day, as long as it is clinically appropriate. In total, this visit takes 30-60 minutes.
Follow-up Visits
Each person’s treatment plan is different and specific to their needs. A regular visit takes about 15-20 minutes depending on what your treatment plan involves. Dr. Sturgill will recommend home exercises when we have stabilized your health to allow for fewer appointments at our office. We will teach you how to complete them correctly, and then you can start participating proactively in the convenience of your own home.
By taking care of yourself, you may find that you do not need chiropractic care as frequently. Dr. Sturgill works to educate you continually about your condition and overall health at each visit, giving you the information you need to take control of your well-being.
